Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch the Redmi Note 17 series in Q3 this year, with early leaks revealing a massive 7-inch screen and a huge 10,000mAh battery on what is likely the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

According to insider Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is testing a new Redmi device featuring a flat 7-inch display-an unusually large size for a smartphone-and a powerhouse battery around 10,000mAh. Although the exact model name wasn’t confirmed, industry watchers believe this is the high-end Pro Max variant.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max rumored design

Previous rumors also indicate 100W fast charging support and a colossal 200MP main camera sensor, pushing the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max toward flagship territory. However, other specifications remain under wraps, leaving much to speculate about Xiaomi’s next big budget powerhouse.

Interestingly, Xiaomi seems to be skipping the number 16 in this lineup, moving straight from Note 15 or even Xiaomi 15 to the Note 17 series. IMEI listings confirm the name change, reflecting a broader shift in Xiaomi’s product-naming strategy that departs from previous conventions.

The rumored 7-inch display places this phone in rare company, as most mainstream smartphones typically range from 6 to 6.7 inches. If Xiaomi delivers this, it could compete with devices like Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra or Apple’s Pro Max series by offering a truly oversized screen and battery designed for heavy users, gamers, or those requiring extended endurance.

With Xiaomi pushing the boundaries on battery capacity and camera resolution in a Redmi device, the smartphone industry is set for another step in the specs-for-the-price arms race. Stay tuned for official details in Q3 to see if the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max meets its ambitious expectations.
