Xiaomi has kicked off crowdfunding for its latest kitchen gadget: the Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro Steam & Roast Version. This versatile 6.5-liter cooker blends air frying, steaming, and even sous-vide in one compact device.
The air fryer offers 11 cooking modes, including pure steam, combined steam and hot air, and sous-vide. It features a 1.5-liter water tank, which Xiaomi says can provide enough steam for about seven dishes before needing a refill.
Temperature control ranges from 30°C to 230°C (86°F to 446°F), with a 360-degree hot air circulation system that promises even cooking and a crispy crust. The steaming mode cooks at 130°C, claiming to be faster than traditional steamers while keeping food fresh and reducing energy consumption.

Remote control is handled via Xiaomi’s HyperOS Connect and its companion app, which includes voice support through the Xiao AI assistant. A physical rotary dial on the device lets users manually adjust settings. The app boasts over 100 recipes, with 31 tailored specifically for this model.
In China, the Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro Steam & Roast Version is available at a crowdfunding price of 559 yuan (around $81), with a planned retail price of 749 yuan ($109). Xiaomi has yet to announce whether it will launch the product internationally, including in Europe.
Combining air frying with steaming and sous-vide remains relatively rare outside premium multi-cookers from brands like Instant Pot or Samsung. Xiaomi’s approach could offer a compelling all-in-one smart kitchen appliance at a lower price point. Watch whether Xiaomi decides to bring this hybrid cooker to Western markets, where interest in versatile and connected kitchen devices continues to grow.
