Portronics has entered the air purifier market with its new Air X model, priced at 13,599 Indian rupees (around $146). Available on the company’s official website, Amazon, Flipkart, and retail stores across India, the Air X offers advanced features including H13 True HEPA filtration and UV sterilization.
The Air X employs a four-stage cleaning system that captures up to 99.95% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. This includes a pre-filter for large particles, a carbon filter to remove odors and gases, a cold catalyst to neutralize household pollutants, and UV sterilization to eliminate bacteria and microbes.
Additionally, the purifier generates 20 million negative ions to refresh indoor air and reduce pollution. It is designed to cover spaces up to 388 square feet, with a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 249 cubic meters per hour, ensuring fast and effective air purification.
According to Portronics, the Air X can completely refresh the air in a 50 cubic meter room every 12 minutes, achieving up to five air changes per hour.
The purifier features a color-coded air quality indicator: blue for clean air, green for moderate pollution, and red for high contamination levels. Its design includes 310 air intake holes to ensure even circulation and filtration throughout the room.
Noise levels are impressively low, with the Air X operating at just 28 decibels in night mode, making it suitable for bedrooms, living areas, and offices. Users can control the device via a touch-sensitive panel or a remote control.
The Air X comes in a white finish and is backed by a 12-month warranty.
Portronics, an Indian consumer electronics brand known for affordable audio and tech accessories, is stepping into the crowded air purifier segment dominated globally by companies like Philips, Xiaomi, and Dyson.
