Crimson Desert, the highly anticipated prequel to Black Desert Online from Pearl Abyss, has launched without support for Intel Arc graphics cards-and there’s no indication this will change anytime soon.
The developers openly advise players expecting Intel Arc compatibility to request refunds through their purchase platform, as stated in the game’s FAQ.
This lack of support does not appear to stem from Intel’s side. The chipmaker claims it has repeatedly offered Pearl Abyss assistance over the years, including help with testing, optimization, and integrating support for its discrete GPUs.
Intel provided the developers with early access to hardware, drivers, and engineering resources spanning multiple GPU generations such as Alchemist, Battlemage, Meteor Lake, and Lunar Lake. Despite this, Pearl Abyss has not implemented official Intel Arc support.
Intel expressed disappointment that gamers with Intel Arc cards cannot play Crimson Desert but reaffirmed its willingness to assist developers if needed. The company also urged users to contact Pearl Abyss directly for details on why support is absent.
Developers are not obligated to support every hardware platform. Meanwhile, players frustrated by the compatibility issues still have options to reclaim their money. For example, Steam’s refund policy allows users to return games within two weeks of purchase-critical given Crimson Desert’s recent release.
