Xiaomi’s 17T and 17T Pro smartphones have appeared in certification databases, signaling an imminent global release. Both models are expected to expand Xiaomi’s affordable flagship lineup with MediaTek chipsets and upgraded features.
Both models have received approval from Singapore’s IMDA regulator, listed under model numbers 2602DPT53G (17T) and 2602EPTC0G (17T Pro). This points to global versions in the works, not just a China-only launch. The documents also mention BIS certification, hinting that India might be among the first markets to get the new phones.
Xiaomi’s 17T series looks set to build on last year’s 15T lineup, which balanced flagship-level features with affordable pricing. The 15T models offered AMOLED displays, MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra and 9400+ processors, and cameras tuned in collaboration with Leica.
Xiaomi 17T specs and features
The Xiaomi 17T is expected to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, paired with a 6,500mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging – a solid setup for balancing power and endurance.
Xiaomi 17T Pro hardware upgrades
The 17T Pro should step up with the more powerful Dimensity 9500 chip, enhancing performance and energy efficiency. Rumors suggest it will retain advanced features like Leica-tuned cameras and may add wireless charging – a feature not expected on the standard 17T model.
Launch timing and market strategy
Notably, Xiaomi might be shifting the launch from its usual Q3 window to Q2 this year, giving it an early advantage in the affordable flagship segment before competition heats up.
Xiaomi’s approach mirrors moves from other Android brands aiming to capture mid-range users with near-flagship specs at lower prices. Apple and Samsung dominate the premium market, but brands like Xiaomi are gaining popularity in regions like India and Southeast Asia by undercutting that premium tier.
While no official announcement is out yet, certification approvals almost always precede a launch – so expect Xiaomi to reveal the 17T series soon, potentially shaking up the global mid-range flagship smartphone market.
