Huawei is making a comeback in India’s tablet market with two fresh entries: the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition 2025 and the MatePad SE 11”. Both models have appeared on Flipkart with disclosed pricing, signaling an imminent launch. These tablets mark Huawei’s first India tablet release since the MatePad T8 in 2020, underscoring a renewed focus on larger-screen devices after years of emphasizing wearables and accessories locally.

Both tablets will operate on Huawei’s HarmonyOS, built atop the AOSP framework, but they will lack Google Mobile Services, meaning users won’t get native access to Google apps. Instead, Huawei is pushing its own software ecosystem, including the WPS Office Suite for productivity tasks, to soften the absence of Google’s extensive app repository.

The MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition is the premium offering here. It sports an 11.5-inch 2.5K display with a sharp 2456 × 1600 pixel resolution. What makes this screen stand out is its PaperMatte technology, which cuts screen reflections by 60% and diminishes light interference by up to 99%, designed to ease eye strain and improve readability, especially in bright conditions.

This model packs a 7,700mAh battery with 22.5W SuperCharge for decent endurance and quicker recharging. It runs HarmonyOS 2.0 and comes with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Camera setup includes an 8MP rear and a 5MP front camera, suitable for video conferencing and everyday photos.

Huawei has listed effective prices with bank discounts as follows:

  • Rs. 13,749 for the MatePad SE 11

Both tablets will be available soon via Flipkart and Huawei’s RTC India platform, with financing options like a 6-month no-cost EMI.

This launch signals Huawei’s attempt to regain traction in a highly competitive tablet segment dominated by brands like Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi, especially in India where budget and mid-tier tablets remain strong sellers.
