Samsung has begun rolling out a new software update for its Galaxy S25 lineup, delivering the March 2026 security patch to devices in South Korea. While many anticipated the arrival of the One UI 8.5 stable version, this update focuses solely on improving security by addressing 65 vulnerabilities found in previous builds.
The update, identified by firmware version S93xNKSS8BZC1, has a download size exceeding 500 MB. It is currently available for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra models. Samsung is expected to expand the update to other regions in the coming days.
Users in South Korea can manually check for the March 2026 security update by going to Settings > Software update and selecting ”Download and install.” After downloading, the installation process will restart the device, which typically takes several minutes to complete.
This update precedes the stable release of One UI 8.5, which Samsung has been testing with seven beta builds for the Galaxy S25 series. A stable One UI 8.5 build has already been detected on Samsung’s servers, indicating an official release may be imminent.
Samsung’s current update pace highlights the company’s prioritization of security fixes even as it prepares major software enhancements. This rollout underscores that flagship devices benefit from routine security patches to address vulnerabilities, especially ahead of significant UI upgrades like One UI 8.5.
