Apple and Nike have teamed up once more, this time focusing on Beats’ Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds. The collaboration debuts a new ”Nike Special Edition” colorway featuring Nike’s bold ”Volt” yellow-green shade, a design choice sure to polarize fans. The earbuds carry the signatures of both brands-the Beats ”b” on the left bud and Nike’s iconic swoosh on the right-while the charging case sports a vibrant, speckled paint-splatter effect reminiscent of abstract art.

Aside from the vivid color scheme, these earphones are identical to the Powerbeats Pro 2 model launched last year, offering heart-rate tracking, active noise cancellation (ANC), and Spatial Audio support. The collaboration, described by Beats’ Chris Thorne as a fusion of ”performance, culture, and sports,” targets athletes and sneaker culture enthusiasts who value exclusive style.

To promote the new special edition, Nike and Beats have brought in LeBron James, a longtime sponsored athlete of both brands. The Lakers star features in an ad that pairs the earbuds with a nostalgic Lionel Richie soundtrack, emphasizing the earphones’ noise-blocking qualities. This fresh colorway will be available for purchase on March 20 via Apple and Nike’s online stores and is priced the same as the original Powerbeats Pro 2 at $250. Since it’s a limited edition, shoppers may want to move quickly before supplies run out.

  • Powerbeats Pro 2 Nike Special Edition highlights:
  • Nike ”Volt” electric yellow-green color
  • Dual branding: Beats ”b” on left earbud and Nike swoosh on right
  • Speckled charging case design
  • Same features as the standard Powerbeats Pro 2: heart-rate tracking, active noise cancellation, Spatial Audio support
  • Price: $250
  • Available March 20 on Apple and Nike websites

Limited-edition colorways in tech often spark quick sellouts and hype among collectors and fitness fans alike. Given the deep roots both brands have in sports and pop culture, this collaboration could revive interest in the Powerbeats line, which competes in a crowded true wireless earbuds market dominated by AirPods and other major brands. Whether the neon ”Volt” palette wins hearts or raises eyebrows, it adds fresh energy to the almost two-year-old device.
