Samsung is rolling out its July security update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, patching 57 vulnerabilities-5 of them critical, with another 42 rated high severity. The bulk of these fixes target devices running Android 14, 15, and 16, covering nearly the entire current Galaxy lineup.

Among the patched issues, 41 come from Google’s monthly Android security bulletin, while Samsung addressed 16 vulnerabilities discovered through its own Security Vulnerability Exposure (SVE) program. Following Samsung’s usual approach, this update combines fixes for both the underlying Android system and the One UI interface in a single package.

The update hasn’t broadly rolled out yet, but Samsung typically deploys patches in waves across devices over days after the bulletin’s release. The Galaxy S26 series is expected to receive the update first, with the same security fixes also included in the upcoming fourth beta of One UI 9.0 for the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra models.

Security is only part of the story for Samsung. In recent years, the company has stood out as one of the fastest Android OEMs for monthly patch updates. Its flagship Galaxy devices now promise support comparable to Google’s Pixel line, offering up to seven years of Android and security updates. This makes even a week’s delay in patch delivery noticeable, especially when Google is simultaneously patching vulnerabilities in the latest Android releases.

While July’s patch isn’t setting records for sheer volume, 57 fixed vulnerabilities represent a significant update across Samsung’s vast Galaxy ecosystem. How quickly Samsung pushes the patch beyond the S26 flagships will become clear this week-historically, last year’s S-series, foldables, and midrange Galaxy A models follow shortly after.
