ThundeRobot has unveiled the Zero Air 16, a 16-inch gaming laptop equipped with a GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU that weighs just 1.64 kilograms. That’s unusually light for a gaming laptop with this level of graphics power-similar models often exceed 2 kg-putting the Zero Air 16 in line with mainstream ultrathin notebooks in terms of portability.

The company bills the Zero Air 16 as the world’s first 16-inch laptop featuring an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU at such a low weight. The spec sheet so far includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. The lightweight and slim chassis owes its design to carbon-fiber construction, though many hardware details remain under wraps.

Two key questions remain: what power budget (TGP) will the GPU have, and how the cooling solution will perform. For gaming laptops in this size class, these factors largely determine whether the device delivers true gaming performance or just impressive numbers on paper. By comparison, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 from recent generations weighs around 1.85 kg, while Razer Blade 16 and Lenovo Legion 7i models typically range between 2 and 2.3 kg.

ThundeRobot plans a full reveal next week, where it will detail the display specifications, confirm the RTX 5070’s power limits, and announce pricing. Until then, it’s too early to judge if the Zero Air 16 can deliver a powerful gaming experience in such a lightweight design.
