Redmi K90 Ultra is already up for preorder in China, and Xiaomi is dangling extra freebies for the first wave of buyers: a screen protector, a power bank, and a charging cable. President Lu Weibing said the phone will go on sale later this month, while leaks suggest the Redmi K90 Ultra will target performance buyers with a huge battery, 100 W charging, and active cooling.

The bigger story is the hardware Xiaomi is aiming at. Redmi is apparently pushing the K90 Ultra beyond the usual performance-first playbook with a battery of more than 8,000 mAh, 100 W fast charging, and an active cooling system with a fan – still a niche move in mainstream phones because thinness sells, even when heat management suffers.

Redmi K90 Ultra preorder bonuses

The first buyers get what Xiaomi calls a student package, though the appeal is hardly limited to students. A free power bank plus a charging cable makes practical sense for a phone expected to chase endurance, and the screen protection bundle is a small but useful sweetener in a market where launch perks often look more generous on paper than in real life.

Snapdragon 8 Elite and a fan inside the phone

According to earlier leaks from Digital Chat Station, the device will use Snapdragon 8 Elite, pair it with the oversized battery, and support 100 W charging. It is also said to include an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner, a metal frame, water resistance, stereo speakers, and a strong vibration motor – a specs sheet built to shout ”flagship” without paying flagship pricing, which is exactly where Redmi likes to be.

The fan is the oddball feature, and that is the point. As phone makers keep squeezing in faster chips and larger batteries, thermal control becomes a differentiator rather than an afterthought, especially against rivals like OnePlus, iQOO, and Realme that keep leaning on raw performance as their calling card. If Redmi can make active cooling feel normal instead of gimmicky, expect other brands to get louder about it too.
