Ugreen has launched the PB541 power bank in China, a 10,000mAh model that adds 45W charging, a built-in USB-C cable, and a color display. It is priced at 199 yuan, or about $29, and is designed to make portable charging faster and more convenient.

It is also another reminder that power banks have quietly become feature wars. Once the battery pack was enough; now the better ones are doubling as tiny status dashboards, and Ugreen is leaning into that with app connectivity and custom screen images. Not exactly essential, but undeniably more polished than the beige bricks that still flood the market.

Ugreen PB541 charging specs and ports

The PB541 uses two 5,000mAh ATL lithium-ion polymer cells arranged in series for a total capacity of 39.1Wh. Ugreen gives it a 2C+1A layout: a built-in red USB-C cable, a second USB-C port, and a USB-A port for older gear.

  • Built-in USB-C cable: up to 45W output, 36W input
  • USB-C port: up to 45W output, 36W input
  • USB-A port: up to 22.5W
  • Simultaneous charging: up to three devices

The device supports PD, PPS, QC, AFC, and FCP, which covers most phones and plenty of smaller gadgets without drama. That is the practical win here: broad compatibility, a cable that doubles as a strap, and enough output to keep modern phones moving at speed.

What the display shows

The side-mounted color screen is the PB541’s party trick, but it is not just there to look clever. It shows battery percentage, charging power, estimated charging times, temperature, and battery health, while Bluetooth support lets users pair the power bank with Ugreen’s Smart Life app and upload custom images to the display.

Ugreen also says its Battery Management System monitors the lithium cobalt oxide cells and can push alerts to the screen if it detects temperature or charging issues. The battery is rated for 800 charge cycles, which is better than what the company says its older models offered.

Size, weight, and the PB610 comparison

Physically, the PB541 measures 111 by 71 by 17.8 mm and weighs 226.4 grams. It uses a standard PC and ABS plastic enclosure, so this is still a mainstream consumer accessory rather than some premium metal slab masquerading as one.

It shares most of its charging hardware with Ugreen’s earlier 45W PB610, but the design has been shifted around: the screen moves to the side and the body gets slimmer. That is the kind of revision that suggests Ugreen is refining the formula rather than reinventing it, which is probably the right call for a category where battery capacity is already commoditized and design is one of the few ways to stand out.

The open question is whether the PB541 stays a China-only curiosity or becomes part of Ugreen’s wider portable charging lineup. If it does, the combination of 45W output, a built-in cable, and a live display looks like an easy sell for anyone tired of carrying one more accessory just to charge the accessory.
