Maria ”Lady Melamori” Davydova nailed the iconic look of Cammy White – Street Fighter’s second female fighter and one of the most recognizable characters in fighting game history. She rocked Cammy’s signature green skintight leotard, braided pigtails, red beret, and striking camouflage leg paint.

Who is Cammy White?

Cammy made her debut in 1993’s Super Street Fighter II, created by artist Akiman to contrast with Chun-Li – the series’ first prominent female fighter. Where Chun-Li’s style emphasizes lightning-fast kicks and Chinese martial arts aesthetics, Cammy embodies British cool with acrobatic moves and brutal grabs.

In the official lore, Cammy is a genetic clone of M. Bison, designed as a backup vessel for his consciousness. Known by the codename Killer Bee, she initially served as an assassin for the villainous Shadaloo organization. However, after Dhalsim awakens her self-awareness in Street Fighter Alpha 3, Bison discards her as useless. Vega secretly rescues her, and she regains consciousness on the steps of the British embassy in Italy, amnesiac but fully skilled in combat.

Cammy is discovered by Delta Red, an elite unit of Britain’s MI6, who recruit her after she aces a series of grueling tests. While her amnesia persists, she embraces her new identity and focuses on rescuing other ”Dolls” – young women similarly abducted and brainwashed by Shadaloo.

Her fighting style centers on speed, acrobatics, and devastating kicks. Signature moves like Spiral Arrow and Cannon Spike are as iconic to the franchise as Ryu’s Hadouken.

Cammy White cosplay and costume design

Cammy’s green skintight leotard, red beret, fingerless gloves, and camouflage stripes painted on her legs have barely evolved since 1993. Akiman explained the simplicity: the outfit maximizes mobility while making Cammy instantly recognizable. In Street Fighter 6, they added a leather jacket she wears briefly before removing it in the first round, but the iconic look is otherwise untouched.

Street Fighter 6 and the 2026 film reboot

The Street Fighter series remains a heavyweight in competitive fighting games and pop culture. Street Fighter 6, launched in 2023, still dominates esports tournaments. Meanwhile, on October 16, 2026, a full reboot film hits theaters – the first in 17 years.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the movie features an unexpected cast: Noah Centineo as Ken, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Kalina Liang as Chun-Li, Jason Momoa as Blanka, 50 Cent as Balrog, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and Roman Reigns as Akuma. Cammy is played by Thai-Australian actress Mel Jarnson. The story unfolds in 1993, exactly when Street Fighter II swept arcade halls worldwide.
