A new Redmi K100 leak has filled in most of the blanks months before launch, and the picture is a bit wild: a 185Hz flat display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 power, an 8,000mAh-class battery, and 50W wireless charging on a vanilla Redmi K-series phone. If this holds, Redmi is trying to squeeze flagship bragging rights out of sheer numbers, which is usually the sort of thing that gets competitors reaching for a spreadsheet and a stress ball.
The rumor trail has been building for a while. Earlier claims pointed to a huge battery, a 200-megapixel main camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, while the latest details suggest the company is packing in even more than the usual ”Pro” badge would imply. The catch, of course, is that this is still a leak, not a launch keynote.
Redmi K100 rumored specs
- Flat display with 185Hz refresh rate
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
- Battery starting with an ”8,” with a previous report pointing to 8,500mAh
- 50W wireless charging and 100W wired charging
- 200-megapixel large-sensor main camera
- Telephoto camera with macro photography support
- Glass back, metal frame, symmetrical dual speakers, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance
Why the charging numbers stand out
The charging setup is the most interesting part here. Xiaomi already likes to use fast wired charging as a headline feature, but 50W wireless charging on a standard Redmi K model would be a clear step up for the line, especially if it lands alongside an 8,000mAh-plus battery. That would put the phone in rare company, because most mainstream flagships still treat wireless speed as a polite afterthought.
There is also a price warning baked into the leaks. A previous report puts the starting point at around 4,000 yuan, far above the Redmi K90’s CNY 2,599 launch price. In other words, Redmi may be aiming less at ”budget flagship” and more at ”premium hardware, please don’t call it cheap.”
Redmi K100 launch window in 2026
The Redmi K100 series is expected to debut in China in September or October 2026, with a global version likely arriving later under a different name. That leaves plenty of room for more leaks to reshape the spec sheet, but if even half of this is accurate, Redmi is preparing a phone that will make rivals explain themselves very quickly.
