Xiaomi has launched a new 20,000mAh power bank in China, and the hook is simple: a built-in USB-C cable that saves you from digging through a bag full of tangled accessories. The new model is already on Xiaomi’s Youpin platform, costs 149 yuan, and keeps the spec sheet sensible rather than flashy.

That restraint is probably the point. In a market full of overstuffed battery bricks with displays, gimmicks, and inflated wattage claims, Xiaomi is betting on something more useful: enough speed for phones and small gadgets, plus a cable that’s always there when you need it. For commuters and travelers, that’s often the difference between a charger that gets used and one that gets left at home.

Xiaomi 20,000mAh power bank price and design

The power bank comes in light gray and dark gray, with rounded edges and a weight of around 343g. Xiaomi has kept the design minimal, which is a polite way of saying it looks like a power bank and not a sci-fi prop.

Ports, charging speed and battery capacity

Alongside the integrated USB-C cable, Xiaomi includes one USB-C port and one USB-A port. All three support up to 22.5W fast charging output, and the power bank also supports 22.5W bidirectional charging, so it can recharge itself at the same speed it delivers power.

Xiaomi says the accessory can take a Xiaomi 17 to around 25% in 30 minutes, while an iPhone 17 can reach about 46% in the same window. The bank uses two 10,000mAh cells for a combined 20,000mAh capacity, with total energy rated at 74Wh, which keeps it below the 100Wh limit that most airlines impose on carry-on batteries.

A practical Xiaomi power bank with built-in USB-C cable

There are the usual safety protections for overcharging, overheating, short circuits, and other common risks, and multiple devices can be charged at once. The bigger story is less about raw output and more about where portable charging is heading: built-in cables are becoming standard because they remove one more thing to remember, which is a tiny convenience until you leave the house without it.

Xiaomi has not said whether this model will get a global release, but the company often eventually pushes accessories beyond China. If it does, expect it to find an audience fast among people who care more about not carrying extra clutter than about chasing the highest watt number on the box.
