Sony has refreshed its premium TV line in India with the Bravia 7 II series, a range that leans hard on True RGB backlighting, AI-driven picture tuning, and a familiar Google TV software stack. The Sony Bravia 7 II series is now available for pre-booking in India, with prices starting at Rs 2,21,990. The pitch is straightforward: better color control, better gaming support, and enough smart-home compatibility to keep the screen from feeling like a lonely rectangle in the living room.

The timing makes sense. TV brands are under pressure to do more than just chase panel specs, and Sony is trying to differentiate with processing and ecosystem features rather than a simple brightness arms race. That has worked for the company before, especially in premium segments where buyers tend to notice motion handling, dialogue clarity, and calibration more than marketing slogans.

Sony Bravia 7 II picture and audio features

At the center of the series is RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro, which independently controls red, green, and blue LEDs for more precise color and stronger contrast. Sony combines that with the Cognitive Processor XR, plus RGB Triluminos Max, Smooth Colour Gradation, and X-Wide Angle Pro for wider viewing angles and cleaner transitions.

Size options run from 55 inches to 98 inches, and the lineup supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Atmos, and DTS. Larger models also get Acoustic Multi-Audio+ for better sound placement, while Voice Zoom 3 is there for anyone who has ever spent a movie night rewinding because one actor decided to whisper through a plot twist.

Sony Bravia 7 II gaming and Google TV features

Gamers get 4K 120Hz support over HDMI 2.1, along with Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode. Sony also includes Game Menu 2, Dolby Vision Gaming, PS Remote Play, Auto HDR Tone Mapping, and Auto Genre Picture Mode, which is a long way of saying the TV wants to stay out of your way when you are trying to win.

The TVs run Google TV and work with Google Assistant, Apple AirPlay 2, Apple HomeKit, Chromecast, and Alexa-compatible devices. Sony also says Gemini integration for Google TV will arrive in a future software update, which should help the platform keep pace as TV makers race to make search and recommendations feel less clunky.

Sony Bravia 7 II price and launch timeline

Pre-bookings have started for select Bravia 7 II models in India.

  • 55-inch model: Rs 2,21,990
  • 65-inch model: Rs 2,74,990
  • 75-inch model: expected by the end of June
  • 85-inch model: expected by the end of June
  • 98-inch model: scheduled for the end of July

That pricing puts the Bravia 7 II squarely in premium territory, where Sony is not really fighting budget brands anyway. The real competition is from other high-end sets that promise similar spec sheets, which means software polish, processing quality, and real-world motion performance will decide whether these TVs feel expensive or just priced that way.
