Russian cosplayer Kalinka Fox, aka Kristina Fink, has unveiled her bold take on Shadowheart, the unique priestess from Baldur’s Gate 3. Unlike the game’s reserved, masked Shadowheart, this rendition strips away much of her usual modesty, offering fans a fresh-and nearly unclothed-interpretation.

Who is Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Shadowheart is a half-elf cleric serving the domain of deception and the dark goddess Shar, who oversees loss and shadows. Her birth name is Genevieve, and she was raised by followers of Selûne, Shar’s rival and sister goddess of the moon. However, the cult abducted her as a child, erased her memories through ritual, renamed her Shadowheart, and tasked her with delivering an important artifact to Baldur’s Gate.

Shadowheart’s personality is guarded and distant. She distrusts strangers and disapproves of needless cruelty, despite serving a goddess for whom cruelty is a tool. This internal conflict makes her storyline one of the most compelling in Baldur’s Gate 3. Player choices shape her fate: if she kills the character Nightsong and remains loyal to Shar, she ascends as the Dark Justiciar. If she rejects Shar and saves Nightsong, she reconnects with her origins under Selûne and reunites with her birth parents.

Why Shadowheart is a beloved Baldur’s Gate 3 companion

Larian Studios recently shared stats revealing that clerics are the least popular class among players creating their own characters. Yet Shadowheart-the game’s only original priest companion-is the preferred choice. Players favor recruiting her over crafting their own clerics from scratch, making her an outlier who is mechanically essential and narratively cherished.

Baldur’s Gate 3 launched in August 2023 and quickly became a critical darling, sweeping Game of the Year honors at all five major award shows. It maintains a ”very positive” rating on Steam. The last big update, Patch 8 in April 2025, introduced 12 new subclasses and crossplay support. While active support has ended, Larian Studios has shifted focus to new projects.
