Samsung’s stable One UI 8.5 update is no longer living in the flagship lane. After launching globally on May 11 for devices like the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z TriFold, the One UI 8.5 rollout has quickly spread to mid-range phones, cheaper Galaxy A models, tablets, and even some older foldables. The speed-up is the interesting part: after a long five-month beta, Samsung seems keen to prove this release will not drift into the sort of sluggish rollout that annoys everyone with a Galaxy badge.

That broader pace also undercuts the worry that One UI 8.5’s slower testing cycle might spill over into One UI 9. Instead, the update is now showing up on more than a dozen Galaxy devices, with the A and M series joining the party this week.

Galaxy phones already on One UI 8.5

The first wave was predictable enough: Galaxy S25 phones got it first, and Samsung even pushed it to the Galaxy S25 Edge despite that model not being part of the beta. What changed the story was how fast the update moved beyond premium hardware. Just days later, Samsung began rolling it out to the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36, and that has now widened into a much longer list.

  • Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, S25 FE
  • Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE
  • Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE
  • Galaxy Z TriFold
  • Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold SE
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy A56, A55, A36, A35, A26, A17, A16
  • Galaxy M56

Tablets and rugged phones are getting One UI 8.5 too

This is where One UI 8.5 starts looking less like a routine refresh and more like a proper platform push. Samsung is not stopping at phones, with the update also landing on Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra, plus several Tab S10 and Tab S9 models, Tab A11+, Tab Active 5, and rugged XCover devices. That wider spread is exactly what makes Samsung’s update support look stronger than many Android rivals, even if the wait for individual models still varies a lot.

  • Galaxy Tab S11, Tab S11 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S10+, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10 Lite, Tab S10 FE, Tab S10 FE+
  • Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9 FE, Tab S9 FE+
  • Galaxy Tab A11+
  • Galaxy Tab Active 5
  • Galaxy XCover 7 Pro
  • Galaxy XCover 5 Pro

Samsung still has a few holdouts

Some premium devices are still waiting, so the rollout is not complete. Samsung has also not published an official eligibility list, which leaves users relying on rollout reports and educated guesses. That said, the direction is clear: this is a wider mid-cycle update than usual, and the list is likely to keep growing over the next few days. The sensible move now is to check your device manually rather than waiting for Samsung to send a trumpet blast to your notification shade.

If your Galaxy is not on the list yet, that does not necessarily mean you are out. Samsung’s own pace suggests more models will follow soon, especially as the company pushes One UI 8.5 beyond its most expensive phones and into the mainstream lineup.
