Infinix has launched the Hot 70, a budget phone that leans hard into two things buyers can see and feel: a physical One-Tap AI Button and a back panel that changes color with temperature. It is the direct successor to the Hot 60, and at a starting price of $124, the Infinix Hot 70 is clearly aimed at the crowded low-cost market where flashy tricks have to coexist with boring essentials like battery life and software support.
Hot 70 hardware and display specs
The Hot 70 comes with a 6.78-inch IPS display, 120 Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution of 720 x 1576 pixels, and up to 700 nits of brightness. Under the hood, Infinix uses the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate, paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
That spec sheet is very much in line with the current budget-phone playbook: big screen, big battery, modest resolution. Samsung, Xiaomi, and other rivals have spent years pushing the same formula in this tier, because shoppers in this price range usually notice battery endurance and smooth scrolling long before they complain about pixel density.
A 6000 mAh battery and 45 W charging
Power is one of the Hot 70’s strongest arguments. It carries a 6000 mAh battery, supports 45 W wired charging, and even offers 10 W reverse charging, which is a nice extra if you want to top up earbuds or another phone.
The camera setup is straightforward rather than ambitious: a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP front camera. The phone also carries IP65 protection against dust and water splashes, which is the sort of practical detail that tends to age better than a gimmick.
One-Tap AI Button and long software support
The most distinctive hardware change is the One-Tap AI Button placed within reach of the thumb. Infinix says it gives direct access to AI functions, turning a basic slab into something a little more configurable, and perhaps a little more desperate to sound future-facing.
Software support is unusually generous for this class. The Hot 70 runs XOS 16 based on Android 16, and Infinix promises up to 3 major Android upgrades plus 5 years of security updates. That is the kind of commitment buyers have been asking budget brands for, even if many manufacturers still treat long support as a luxury feature.
Hot 70 price and Pro variants
The base Hot 70 starts at $124 for the version with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Infinix also says Hot 70 Pro and Hot 70 Pro+ versions are expected later, which suggests the company is building a small family around the same design idea rather than betting everything on one model.
That approach makes sense. The low end is where manufacturers win by volume, and a phone that mixes a large battery, a 120 Hz screen, and a bright color-shifting finish is more likely to stand out on a shelf than another anonymous black rectangle. The real question is whether buyers will care more about the AI button or the battery that should keep the show going long after the novelty wears off.
