Vivo’s next flagship family may be fixing one of the easiest ways to win over power users: battery life. A new leak says every model in the upcoming Vivo X500 series will carry a battery above 7000 mAh, a noticeable jump from the current X300 range and a sign that giant cells are moving from one-off bragging rights to standard flagship kit.
The claim comes from the tipster Smart Pikachu, who says Vivo wants large batteries across the whole series, not just on the top model. That lines up with a broader shift in premium phones: once brands prove they can cram in more capacity without turning a handset into a brick, the rest of the lineup tends to follow.
The current Vivo X300 family gives a good reference point. The X300 has a 6040 mAh battery, the X300 Pro uses a 6510 mAh cell, and the X300 Ultra tops out at 7100 mAh. If the leak is right, the X500 generation would push that ceiling higher across the board instead of reserving the biggest battery for a single halo device.
Vivo X500 models and expected sizes
According to the same reports, Vivo is preparing three X500 phones for a September launch in China: the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max. Their displays are said to measure 6.59, 6.37, and 6.85 inches, with an X500 Ultra arriving later.
- X500: 6.59-inch display
- X500 Pro: 6.37-inch display
- X500 Pro Max: 6.85-inch display
- X500 Ultra: expected later
Chipset split could keep the Ultra in a different class
The hardware split also sounds familiar in the best and worst ways. The Ultra is tipped to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, while the other models would rely on new Dimensity 9600-series chips. That setup would let Vivo separate the Ultra with extra performance headroom, but it also means buyers will be comparing battery size, screen size, and silicon across models very closely.
Smart Pikachu has previously been accurate about Xiaomi hardware, including the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 6, which is why this leak is being taken seriously. Still, battery figures tend to change late in development, especially when manufacturers are chasing thinner designs and faster charging at the same time. Vivo may be aiming for a very simple message here: more endurance, less compromise, and no need to save the real battery upgrade for the most expensive phone.
