Motorola is gearing up to launch the Edge 70 Pro+ in India before the end of this month, according to insider Mukul Sharma. The new handset promises notable upgrades over the existing Edge 70 Pro model, aiming to attract users looking for better photography and wireless charging features.
The Edge 70 Pro+ is expected to introduce three main enhancements: a telephoto lens, wireless charging support, and an expanded memory option with 16GB of RAM. Motorola plans to offer the phone in three colors, including Satin Wine Red and an unusual wood-finish variant, adding a touch of premium style to the lineup.
Otherwise, most of the device’s specs will closely mirror those of the standard Edge 70 Pro. Industry speculation suggests that the global Edge 70 Pro with advanced features could be rebranded as the Pro+ model specifically in the Indian market.
Key specs include a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a high 144Hz refresh rate, and an extremely bright 5200-nit peak brightness. Powering the phone is reportedly the MediaTek Dimensity 8500+ chipset. The handset will pack a sizable 6500mAh battery, supporting 90W wired fast charging along with 15W wireless charging-a first for this series.
The camera setup will see a significant leap, featuring a triple rear module: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom. Selfies will be handled by a 50MP front-facing camera. Running Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UX skin, the Edge 70 Pro+ is expected to receive three major system updates over its lifetime.
Currently, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced around 38,999 INR (~$410) in India. Given the added features, the Edge 70 Pro+ variant is anticipated to cost under 50,000 INR, positioning it as an affordable premium-tier device in a highly competitive midrange segment.

For global tech audiences, Motorola’s strategy to offer a bigger battery, wireless charging, and enhanced cameras aligns with trends set by brands like Samsung and Xiaomi in the sub-$500 price bracket. The inclusion of a periscope telephoto lens and 16GB RAM is particularly compelling, as these are features often reserved for higher-end models.
