Xiaomi is finally ready to bring the Redmi Watch 6 beyond China. Launched over six months ago as a China-exclusive, the smartwatch has started appearing in European stores, notably in Hungary, signaling its global rollout.
Now added to Xiaomi’s international website are the Redmi Watch 6 and the NFC-equipped Redmi Watch 6 NFC models, confirming a broader global launch that will replace the Redmi Watch 5 across multiple regions-not just select markets.
The NFC version supports contactless payments via Mastercard and Visa, a feature increasingly expected on budget smartwatches competing with offerings from Apple, Samsung, and global Android brands.

Both versions come in Obsidian Black and Silver Grey, with the standard Redmi Watch 6 adding a Glacier Blue option. They sport aluminum cases paired with TPU straps that fit wrists between 135 and 205 mm, combining lightweight durability and comfort.
Redmi Watch 6 display and hardware features
The watch features a 2.07-inch AMOLED screen with a sharp 432 × 514 pixel resolution and a smooth 60 Hz refresh rate. It reaches up to 2000 nits brightness, ensuring clear visibility even in bright outdoor conditions.
Connectivity options include GPS and Bluetooth 5.4, supporting fitness tracking and sync capabilities. Its 550 mAh battery offers up to an impressive 24 days of use on a single charge, outperforming many competitors in the budget smartwatch category.
Redmi Watch 6 international launch and competition
Although Xiaomi has not confirmed an exact global release date, the Redmi Watch 6’s availability in European stores and listing on Xiaomi’s international site indicate that the rollout is imminent. Competing against devices like the Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, and a variety of Wear OS smartwatches, the Redmi Watch 6 offers extended battery life, a bright AMOLED display, and NFC payment functionality at an affordable price.
Xiaomi’s international launch signals the growing competition in the affordable smartwatch segment, where feature parity with premium brands is increasingly common. This trend pushes higher-end manufacturers to enhance battery life and incorporate versatile payment options.
Watch for official announcements soon. The Redmi Watch 6’s global debut could disrupt the budget smartwatch market, particularly if Xiaomi maintains competitive pricing and the device delivers reliable performance.
