Huawei is gearing up to launch an ultra-premium edition of its flagship smartwatch, the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Extraordinary Master Diamond Edition, set to debut in China on April 20 alongside other new products like the Huawei Watch Buds 2.
This new variant builds on the company’s earlier Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Edition, which launched in China last November before reaching European markets in January 2026.
The standout feature of the Diamond Edition is its heavy use of real diamonds. According to teasers, sparkling stones adorn the dial at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, while the bracelet itself is also encrusted with diamonds. Even the watch case is faceted to mimic the cuts of a diamond, emphasizing luxury through design.

The Diamond Edition departs noticeably from the Royal Edition’s design language. While the Royal Edition features a digital crown and two circular side buttons, the newer model opts for a crown plus a single capsule-shaped button. The overall look clearly targets a female audience, contrasting with the more traditionally masculine styling of the Royal Edition.
Huawei has not revealed the price for the Diamond Edition yet, but it’s expected to be in an ultra-luxury bracket. For reference, the Royal Edition retailed for:
- 24,999 yuan (~$3,500) in China
- €3,299 in Europe
- £2,999.99 in the UK
Huawei’s push into diamond-studded smartwatches reflects a broader trend among luxury wearables, competing with offerings from the likes of Apple and TAG Heuer that also blend premium materials with advanced tech. Whether the Diamond Edition can attract ultra-high-end buyers remains to be seen, but it highlights how smartwatches are increasingly crossing into traditional luxury territory.
Keep an eye on the April 20 reveal for official specs, availability, and pricing. This release could set a new standard for how far smartwatch makers can push the boundary between high-end jewelry and tech accessories.
