Activision has officially shut down Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. The mobile battle royale’s servers went offline permanently on April 17, 2026, rendering the game completely unplayable.

The closure was announced in early 2025, with Activision citing the game’s failure to capture the mobile audience as effectively as its PC and console versions.

The shutdown process began well before the final day. On May 19, 2025, in-app purchases were disabled, and Warzone Mobile was removed from both Google Play and the Apple App Store. Players who already had the game installed could still play, but new downloads were no longer possible.

Seasonal content and updates also stopped, leaving the game in a near-frozen state for almost a year until the ultimate server shutdown.

Guest accounts lost access with the server closure, though Activision accounts remain active and reusable across other titles from the publisher. Unspent COD Points were forfeited without refunds, as Activision warned players in advance that no reimbursements for in-game currency or purchases would be issued.

Activision now encourages Warzone Mobile players to switch to Call of Duty: Mobile, which is still actively supported with regular updates and multiple modes including battle royale, multiplayer, zombies, and the extraction-based mode DMZ: Recon. Meanwhile, the free Call of Duty: Warzone remains available on PC and consoles.

Warzone Mobile’s shutdown underscores the challenges even major franchises face on mobile platforms. Despite the Call of Duty brand’s massive success on PC and consoles, this mobile spin-off survived just over two years from its global launch to full closure.
