Redmi has locked in April 21 for the K90 Max in China, and the Redmi K90 Max will not be showing up alone. The same event will also bring the Redmi K Pad 2, Redmi Pad 2 SE, and Redmi Book Pro models in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, which is a tidy little reminder that Xiaomi’s sub-brand still likes a big launch when it can get one.

Redmi K90 Max display and cooling
The Redmi K90 Max is built around a 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3500 nits. Redmi says more than 40 games can run at up to 165fps, with tweaks aimed at darker in-game scenes, which sounds like the company is trying to own the ”fast screen” bragging rights and the ”mobile esports” crowd at the same time.
The bigger story is the cooling setup. Redmi says this will be its first phone with an in-built fan-based cooling system, using a vertical air intake fan that measures 18.1mm and pushes airflow of up to 0.42CFM. The company claims the suspended design keeps the motherboard layout untouched, while still preserving IP66, IP68, and IP69 resistance ratings – a neat trick if it holds up outside a launch slide.
Dimensity 9500 and an 8000mAh-class battery
Inside, Redmi has confirmed the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, built on a 3nm process, plus an independent graphics chip for gaming. The phone is also expected to carry an 8000mAh or 8,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging, which is the sort of spec stack that makes rivals look underfed.
- 6.83-inch display

- MediaTek Dimensity 9500
- 8000mAh or 8,500mAh battery
- 100W wired charging
Redmi K Pad 2, Pad 2 SE, and Book Pro
The rest of the lineup suggests Redmi wants April 21 to feel broader than a single phone reveal. The K Pad 2 will also use the Dimensity 9500, while the Pad 2 SE is positioned as a mid-range tablet. On the laptop side, the Redmi Book Pro series returns in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, giving the brand a way to stretch the event across phones, tablets, and PCs without pretending this is a one-product show.
If Redmi delivers the cooling system and battery numbers as promised, the K90 Max could land as one of the more aggressive performance phones of the season. The open question is less about ambition and more about execution: fan noise, sustained thermals, and whether all that hardware can stay comfortable in a thin handset without turning into a gimmick.
