Huawei has launched its latest smart TV, the Vision Smart Screen 6 SE, targeting premium viewing experiences combined with smart home ecosystem integration. The new model features a 4K Mini LED display with a refresh rate of up to 288Hz and will be available from April 7 starting at 3,899 yuan (about $540), purchasable both online and offline in retail stores.

The headline feature of the Vision Smart Screen 6 SE is its 4K Mini LED display utilizing sixth-generation technology. It boasts an impressive refresh rate of up to 288Hz, making it especially suitable for fast-paced content and gaming. Key display specs include:

  • 178° viewing angle
  • Approximately 50% brighter than the previous generation
  • Enhanced contrast ratios

Under the hood, it runs on Huawei’s proprietary Honghu chip featuring a quad-core setup (2× Cortex-A73 + 2× Cortex-A53). The TV comes with 3GB of RAM, extendable virtually by 1GB, alongside 64GB of internal storage. Huawei claims this results in about a 15% boost in system responsiveness compared to prior models.

The Vision Smart Screen 6 SE runs on HarmonyOS, ensuring tight integration with other Huawei devices. Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports, which support smooth 4K content playback at high frame rates, making it compatible with the latest gaming consoles.

The TV also features a built-in AI camera designed for multiple uses such as video calls, home monitoring, and fitness tracking.

  • Video conferencing
  • Home security functions
  • Fitness and health monitoring

Additional features include AI image enhancement, eye protection mode, a kids mode, and device interoperability functions.

The Vision Smart Screen 6 SE will be available in four sizes: 55, 65, 75, and 85 inches, appealing to both casual viewers and those looking to build full multimedia setups.

Huawei’s entry into premium smart TVs with advanced Mini LED technology and gaming-friendly refresh rates competes directly with Apple’s Apple TV lineup, Samsung’s Neo QLED series, and Google’s Android TV ecosystem. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 ports and an AI-powered camera highlights Huawei’s push to blend entertainment with smart home and interactive features.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how Huawei’s HarmonyOS smart TV platform develops as it faces stiff competition from Android TV and proprietary systems by other global brands. The adoption of Mini LED and ultra-high refresh rates at an affordable price point could pressure rivals to accelerate innovation in their midrange smart TV segments.
