The timing matches the game’s original Japanese release on PlayStation 2 in 2006, which is a neat bit of symmetry for a series that has spent much of its life being remembered more loudly than it has been actively serviced.
The publisher has not said what the celebration will include, but the wording suggests more than a polite social post and a cake emoji. That matters because Okami has become one of Capcom’s most durable cult properties, and anniversaries are exactly when companies tend to test whether nostalgia can still move people who have already bought the remaster once, twice, or three times.
