ZTE has rolled out the FreeScreen F10, a new portable smart display that competes with devices like LG’s StanbyME series. Unlike its rivals, the FreeScreen F10 features a movable wheeled stand and packs several unique features aimed at mobile and flexible use. The device supports 5G connectivity and promises extended battery life, making it ideal for users who need a portable smart display beyond traditional setups.

The FreeScreen F10 sports a 27-inch LCD panel with a 1080p resolution, 300 nits of brightness, and a 100Hz refresh rate. The touchscreen supports up to 10 simultaneous touch points and offers a 16:9 aspect ratio with 85% color gamut coverage. Plus, the display can rotate 90 degrees for different viewing orientations.

Under the hood, the device runs on a Unisoc T8300 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Notably, it supports 5G connectivity alongside dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, enabling fast and flexible wireless use. For video calls, there’s an 8MP camera equipped with a physical privacy shutter.

The audio setup includes two 5W speakers and a 20W subwoofer for enhanced sound output. Ports cover a SIM card slot, USB-C, a full-size USB 2.0, and HDMI 2.0 connections.

Where the FreeScreen F10 really stands out is battery life. It houses a 9,500mAh battery, boasting eight to 12 hours of use on a single charge-double or triple the roughly four-hour runtime of LG’s StanbyME 2. The device weighs 18 kg with its stand (6 kg without) and measures 158.4 cm tall including the wheeled base.

Pricing for the FreeScreen F10 in China is about 3,499 yuan ($508). This makes ZTE’s offering a competitive portable smart display choice, especially for users needing integrated 5G connectivity and longer battery life for mobile workspaces.

While smart displays have traditionally targeted home or office desks, ZTE’s wheeled, battery-powered design hints at new use cases in mobile workspaces, meetings, or classrooms. The integration of 5G also positions it well for markets looking beyond Wi-Fi-bound devices. Whether other manufacturers will follow with similar mobile smart displays remains to be seen, but ZTE is carving out a distinctive niche here.
