HP has quietly launched the EliteBoard G1a, a hybrid device that merges a compact keyboard with a mini PC powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI processors. First unveiled at CES 2026, this compact gadget is barely larger than typical wireless keyboards but delivers significantly more computing power than Raspberry Pi 500-class devices.

While HP originally planned a global release this month, the EliteBoard G1a is still marked as ”coming soon” in Europe, the UK, and the US. However, the device is already available in parts of East Asia, including Hong Kong and Japan.

Interestingly, HP has slashed prices dramatically in these early Asian markets-some versions in Japan are discounted by over 50%, bringing the entry price down to around $1,467 including taxes (approximately 232,800 JPY).

The base configuration packs an AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 processor featuring four Zen 5 cores and integrated Radeon 820M graphics, coupled with 16GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. Storage options vary regionally: 256GB in Japan and 512GB in Hong Kong.

All models include a 32Wh battery with 65W charging support, emphasizing portability despite the impressive specs. Connectivity is limited to two USB4 ports, underscoring its minimalist, all-in-one design.

The EliteBoard G1a lineup includes several variants with different Ryzen AI processors, RAM, and storage configurations:

  • Ryzen AI 5 330 / 16GB RAM / 256GB storage – from 232,800 JPY (~$1,467)
  • Ryzen AI 5 330 / 16GB RAM / 512GB storage – from 11,999 HKD (~$1,530)
  • Ryzen AI 5 Pro 340 / 16GB RAM / 512GB storage – from 13,599 HKD (~$1,735)
  • Ryzen AI 5 Pro 340 / 16GB RAM / 1TB storage – from 14,699 HKD (~$1,875)
  • Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350 / 32GB RAM / 512GB storage – from 359,300 JPY (~$2,269)
  • Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350 / 32GB RAM / 2TB storage – from 25,299 HKD (~$3,230)

HP’s EliteBoard G1a carves out a unique niche by combining full desktop-level performance with the form factor of a keyboard. This approach targets professionals and enthusiasts who need powerful computing in the smallest possible footprint.

EliteBoard G1a competes with mini PCs like Intel NUC and Apple Mac Studio

There are few direct competitors. The EliteBoard challenges mini-PCs such as Intel’s NUC or Apple’s Mac Studio by shrinking the whole system into a keyboard chassis. It also beats Raspberry Pi 500-class devices in raw power and RAM, positioning itself as a premium, ultra-compact desktop alternative.

Availability and pricing of HP EliteBoard G1a in Asia

HP has initially launched the EliteBoard G1a in select East Asian markets, with notable discounts in Japan. Global availability remains limited for now, with other regions marked as ”coming soon.”
