Dell has officially launched a new lineup of Alienware gaming laptops featuring Intel’s latest Arrow Lake HX Plus processors. The series includes three models: Alienware 16X Aurora, Alienware 16 Area-51, and Alienware 18 Area-51.

The new devices are now available in the U.S. market with pricing details. Alongside existing configurations with Core Ultra 7 255HX and Core Ultra 9 275HX processors, Dell has introduced a new flagship chip-the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus-which offers several enhancements over its predecessor, the Core Ultra 9 285HX.

Starting prices for entry-level Alienware 16X Aurora models with the new Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus chip begin at $2,119. The Alienware 16 Area-51 and Alienware 18 Area-51 models start at $3,570 and $3,670 respectively. Fully configured versions with top-of-the-line components can cost significantly more, reaching up to approximately $8,500.

  • Alienware 16X Aurora – from $2,119 (GeForce RTX 5060, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 240Hz OLED display)
  • Alienware 16 Area-51 – from $3,570 (GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 240Hz OLED display)
  • Alienware 18 Area-51 – from $3,670 (GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 300Hz IPS display)

All three models support up to 64GB of RAM. The Alienware 16X Aurora is available with GPUs up to the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, while the Area-51 editions can be configured with Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 5090. The fully maxed-out Alienware 16 and 18 Area-51 laptops can cost around $8,500.

Compared to gaming laptops from Apple and major PC vendors like ASUS and MSI, Dell’s Alienware models focus on top-tier Intel processors and high-refresh-rate display options aimed at enthusiasts who demand leading performance and high graphical fidelity. The introduction of Intel’s Arrow Lake HX Plus processors keeps Alienware competitive with rival platforms powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7045HX series and Nvidia’s latest RTX 40-series GPUs.

Intel’s Arrow Lake HX Plus lineup balances power and efficiency with higher core counts and improved performance-per-watt, appealing to gamers and content creators who need high-performance mobile solutions. Alienware’s combination of OLED and high-refresh-rate IPS displays, alongside flexible memory and GPU options, caters to various priorities within the gaming community, from color accuracy to frame rates.

Looking ahead, Dell is expected to refine these models as the discrete mobile GPU landscape evolves and Intel releases further Arrow Lake iterations for notebooks. Pricing flexibility and custom configurations will remain crucial for Alienware’s appeal to users wanting a tailored balance of power and portability.
