Dell has launched two new desktop workstations, the Pro Precision 9 T4 and Pro Precision 9 T6, aimed at professionals who need heavy-duty computing power. Both models pack Intel Xeon processors with up to 86 cores, offer Nvidia RTX and AMD Radeon Pro graphics options, and deliver massive memory and storage expandability.

Pro Precision 9 T4 specifications and design

The Pro Precision 9 T4 features a sleek black tower design with abundant connectivity ports. It can be configured with an Intel Xeon 698X processor, boasting up to 86 cores and a 350W thermal design power (TDP), with boost clock speeds up to 4.8GHz.

On the graphics front, the T4 supports a range from consumer-grade Nvidia RTX 50 series to professional GPUs, including the RTX A800 Active with 40GB of HBM memory, alongside AMD’s Radeon Pro W7400. Configuration options allow for a single high-power GPU up to 600W, two GPUs up to 300W each, or as many as four low-power 50W GPUs.

Memory support scales depending on the GPU: up to 2TB of DDR5 RAM at 6400 MT/s with RTX 50 series graphics, or up to 4TB when paired with professional GPUs. Storage tops out at a staggering 124TB thanks to nine drive bays. Powering these configurations is either a 1500W or a 2400W power supply, based on system demands.

Pro Precision 9 T6 specifications and expanded capacity

The Pro Precision 9 T6 builds on the T4’s foundation with a larger chassis designed to hold more GPUs and storage devices. Like the T4, it supports 86-core Intel Xeon processors but pushes storage capacity up to an eye-watering 316TB.

GPU configurations mirror those of the T4 but allow more flexibility: up to six 50W GPUs, five 300W GPUs, or two 600W GPUs. Maximum RAM capacity hits 4TB, with support for Wi-Fi 7 and other modern connectivity standards also included.

Dell’s Pro Precision lineup competes directly with professional desktop workstations from HP’s Z series and Lenovo’s ThinkStation range, offering comparable Xeon processors and professional GPU options. The massive storage capacities and flexible GPU configurations set Dell apart for workflows demanding heavy data throughput and intense rendering capabilities.

Both the Pro Precision 9 T4 and T6 will start shipping in May as part of Dell’s broader Pro Precision lineup refresh. Pricing details have not yet been announced.

As Nvidia and AMD continue to push graphics technology boundaries, and Intel extends Xeon’s core counts and frequencies, Dell’s Pro Precision 9 T4 and T6 cater to high-end professionals pushing the limits of 3D rendering, scientific simulations, and large-scale video editing. The availability of models with up to 316TB storage could influence workstation design trends across the industry in the coming year.
